Grundon Waste Management has teamed up with the Oxford Food Bank to launch a Festive Food Share campaign throughout December 2015. The target for this campaign is to raise £3,000 of funds for OFB.
Deputy Chairman Neil Grundon (pictured above with David Kay of OFB) said: “Together with the Food Bank our priority is to help reduce food waste and that’s why we’re running this campaign. We’re calling on Oxfordshire’s hospitality, business and retail sectors to become smarter about the way they deal with food and stop thinking of it as a disposable commodity. Many could do well to follow the example of the supermarkets and wholesalers who already donate fresh food to the Food Bank on a daily basis.”
During the campaign Grundon will be donating £25 for every new customer signing up to its dedicated food waste collection service and a further 25p for every food waste bin it empties from existing customers.
The campaign has already raised considerable media interest with local press, radio and TV all keen to feature this story – Jack FM and Marlow FM have already broadcasted the news and you can see a clip from That’s Oxford TV by clicking here.
